Of course it's not enough to be able to recite the mission statement back to a parent. Staff need to be incorporating it everyday in the activities that they do with the kids. It should be something that they truly believe in as teachers - whether it's providing quality childcare, using an outdoor classroom to promote curiosity, or a commitment to teaching thoughtfulness and community to children. I read a few mission statements for different childcare centers that popped up on a Google search, and if I was part of the staff, I would really make sure I thought about the mission every day and I used it as a guide for how I want to "direct" every interaction. And I would consider: are there lessons I can purposefully teach that relate back to the mission?

Staff should show understanding of the mission statement by following all the rules and regulations daily that meet the goals and requirments of the mission statement.
