Some children are very picky about the food that they eat. It’s important to try and serve a variety of food consistently so that they learn to try what’s on their plate. It can be very difficult not to force children to eat if they are only picking at certain foods, but we have to keep in mind that it’s more important for children to have a healthy relationship to eating. The challenging part of keeping up a rotating menu is making sure that foods are not presented too many times in a row, if ever – especially if you’re trying to stick to what’s in season.
Another challenge is that some children have health restrictions that mean menus should be altered to cater to their health conditions. Some children, after seeing what’s on their plate, may not want to eat it because they notice the special meals that other children receive. If possible, I think children should be served the same foods or as similar as it can get.

I have only found it to be difficult if we have a particular group that has several allergies or parents who are picky and prefer their child not eat many certain things that we offer.
