Discussion 3.2 Significant Safety Procedures

If I were to give parents a tour of the facility I would highlight how often we practice safety drills like fire drills or earthquakes so that they know when to find their children in the event of an emergency and we need to evacuate. I would also go through some of our first aid procedures and point out things like where we keep our gloves outside, where the first aid kits are kept, the contents of a portable first aid kit, and which of our staff members are trained in first aid/CPR. Some of the safety features I would show to the parents are our emergency exits, the methods for making sure children cannot wander off, and how we disinfect the classroom on a daily basis.

When giving a tour I would point out what our emergency evacuation plan and procedure is, and go through our policies as to how we assure each childs safety such as cleaning and feeding, sanitizing toys.
