First, it would be good to observe how the children in your care typically act, and to watch for any dramatic shifts in behavior. It would also be good to do your research about it, talk to coworkers and directors who have most likely experienced this before.

Be familiar with the signs and symptoms. Watch for any change in a child's behavior or sign and symtptoms in a child that are consistant with abuse of any kind.
