Some safety standards may include regular hand washing, wearing gloves when handling children's food, and keeping sharp objects such as scissors out of reach. Regular hand washing of the kids and staff will help kill the germs in their tracks; the more often hands are washed after an activity, the less the germs will spread and the less the children will get sick. Wearing gloves when handling children's food is important because you don't want to spread germs even if hands have been washed. Keeping scissors out of reach from children is especially important and will keep them safe because the children can't play with them if the teacher isn't paying attention. They learn how to use scissors, but the scissors they use are less sharp than the teacher ones and they may use them incorrectly and could possibly cut themselves or another friend.
