The health and safety policies are all clear to me but they are also very in-depth. If I were going to open a center at my home, I would definitely need to fully read them and make certain that I understand each and every one of the policies so my center would be a safe place for children to learn, grow and play.

All children develop differently, and child care providers need to individualize their approach with children, because children have different rates of development, and different interests, temperaments, languages, cultural backgrounds and learning styles. During the first five years, children constantly acquire new skills and knowledge, and so, caregivers must be knowledgeable about what children can do, how a child can get hurt and ways to protect them from injury.
