One of the standards is that you must have a center free of small items children can choke on because infants and young kids love to put things in their mouths.
Making sure the supplies used for coloring (ie: crayons, paints, markers) are free of toxic chemicals is important because, once again, kids always tend to put things in their mouths.
Providing rules and precautions for use of sharp objects (ie: scissors) is another safety precaution because kids need guidance and assistance so they don’t hurt themselves.
