This work is intended to rethink some key points of the recent debate on teacher professionalization. To what extent can we say that teachers meet the conventional requirements of the professions? Although there is widespread agreement about the need to improve the professional status of teaching, there is no coincidence in the foprofesonionslrma of achieving it. To understand the different positions, the concepts of professionalism and professionalization are also analyzed, and the importance of training as a personal and professional development process is highlighted.
