How have you stopped yourself or gotten help when you felt you might harm a child?
I have 3 children, and there are many occasions,when I can get frustrated and I do. When I feel like I am about to say something in a heat of a moment that may hurt them, and cause damage and not resolve the situation, I just walk away, take a breather, open a window for some fresh air, to regain my thoughts.
I then tell him/her/them that we will discuss this situation at a later time that day, and that I love them no matter what, even though I am not happy with their actions.
I have never felt like I was going to harm the child physically, I just never wanted the frustration to get the best of me, I don't want my children to feel scared and unsafe with me at any given point.
