The most common is the cold but kids don't need to stay home for that. The most common that would require home care are the flu, chickenpox, hepatitis, and meningitis. The most common injuries will be scrapes and bruises from kids falling down and running into each other. Yes I can, I know to look for symptoms such as refusal to eat, changes in temperament, fever, sluggish movement, and generally any change in the child' regular behavior. And know the proper procedures for my school as far as contacting parents, notifying director, isolating and comforting student, and sanitizing area for other kids. If an injury requires a third party (doctor) notify child care licensor.

The common cold is the most that I would see in a child care center and symptoms are running nose, tired, change of body language, and depends on how severe, the child may have to go home. To make sure that others do not catch it, is to have the kids wash their hands, wipe done toys that the kids have played with and no sharing of anything. Scrapes and bruises from the kids playing and running into each other and falling down. Follow the recommended instructions for cleaning the scraped area and cover it up properly, then write up an incent report.
