Some safety standards required in child care programs may seem like a no brainer but it's super important to have regulations especially with younger children. A few of those regulations are: locks which are helpful for little children who try to escape, shelving and portable furniture is important to have a stable area so they don’t fall over, keeping chemicals locked away and out of reach of children, have caps over you electrical outlets, and making sure that all light bulbs are shielded just in case one pops or just burns out.

Some safety standards required but not limited in child care are: •Locks - proper locks are used to keep kids out of harmful chemicals, etc. •Working telephone - to be able to make emergency calls when needed and accessible at anytime. •Fences and playground surfaces - cleared of harmful waste, potholes, insects, equipment, etc. •Exits, Stairs, and Decks - need to know all exits, clearly marked and cleared from being blocked in case of emergency. •Shelving and portable furniture - proper size furniture for age group and stabilized so they don't fall over.
