Information about a child or family that is considered confidential should be kept in a safe place where it cannot be access by the general public. Each child's records must be readily available to the director of staff person in charge. They must be accessible in case of an emergency, but still in a secure location. Some records, like emergency medical consent forms, may need to be portable along with information like the parents' work numbers, emergency contacts, doctor and dentist info, and important facts about the child's medical history.
