most places don't do this because of lack of space/materials. Activity has lots of benefits for children. Their bodies are built for activity.

Some facilities may take longer having lunch or changing diapers and run out of time, or they may not have the space or resources. Though it seems that every facility should have time in there day for two hours of structured/unstructured play.

Some child care centers run out of time or run into weather changes that make outdoor play time unsafe. Plus, we need to clean everything and make sure that the kids have a safe environment to play active games. So, sometimes we run out of time because there is too much to clean before allowing the kids to run around and engage in active play.
