Partnership is when families and childcare professionals have equal importance as well as unique roles on the child’s life. Moreover, it exists when both parts work together towards a common goal, which is supporting the development and learning of the child. Partnering with the family is important because it benefits and supports the development, learning and being of a child in a very successful way.

A true partnership is a supportive collaboration based on mutual interests, where 2 parties - like childcare providers and families - have equally important and unique roles and work together to a common goal. A strong, positive partner-relationship between childcare providers and families is important because it allows for better quality care and education for the child, helps the parents feel supported, and helps both parties to figure out what best for each child.

A partnership is people coming together and collaborating and communicating. It is important for providers as wells as families to better understand a child and their need and also understanding where they are at developmentally.
