2.3. What do you need to do to follow state laws and community procedures that protect children against abuse and neglect? If you see something report it. You must report to CPS any signs of abuse or neglect you suspect a child might be victim of. You do not inform the family that you are doing so and if you feel that your superiors may have an issue with it you still must report it as a mandatory reporter. You must allow CPS to conduct their business in whatever setting they need to in order to protect the child and best assess the situation as well as any actions that need to be taken.
