Every child develops at a different rate, and babies learn from their first experiences most of the time these experiences are spent at home and help form the child's personality. As the child gets older the opinions they start to form and the things they start to believe are usually a reflection of what their parents taught them. My job as a caregiver in this case would be to respect the parents wishes , ask them what they expect their child to believe in (religious values) and respect that, while at the same time working with the child to help teach them to respect others around them who may have a different belief and a different culture.

How do the components of human diversity influence children's well-being, behavior and growth?
The components of Human diversity influences children's well-being because diversity helps children realize and be aware of differences in others as far as looks, language, age, and another children's attitudes. Behavior in relation to human diversity and the influence it has in children is very apparent. The behavior of a child is influenced by their culture and when in a school setting for example, kids are able to learn about their friends temperament, age as well as their abilities and ethnicity. Kids will often assume gender based on beliefs but today it can sometimes be “tricky” especially with the amount of children identifying differently than the norm, which is male with female. With these elements kids are able to grow from the experiences they gain within their neighborhood, at home, and even from secondary family members.

As children grow, they are exposed to various stimuli that shape the way they feel, react and develop. The most important stimuli are the ones that come from inside their homes. Some forms of this may come from a specific religion, language spoken, tone of voice, race/ethnicity, social class and even the disabilities found in the home. Knowing that these factors influence the way a child develops is so important when caring for that child. For example, a specific holiday may control the emotions a child may feel on a given day. These emotions (depending on the age of the child) may control the behavior a child may express that day. Another example might be the social class a child was born into. If the family isn’t able to provide the appropriate foods a child needs, he/she may encounter growth problems. This is the reason why as caregivers, we should invest time in providing the best environment so that every child has an opportunity to develop in the best conditions available.
